Hi, I consult with large companies and assist them with their IT purchases. As a result, I have gained extensive knowledge of just about every laptop on the market.
Bought this superb laptop at great price after a good rebate on the price. Windows vista took a bit of time to set up and since this was my first time using this operating system did not hurry things. The keyboard is well designed and very easy and comfortable to use. The screen resolution is excellent. The built in web cam delivers crystal clear pictures although one has to be pretty close to the inbuilt microphone for a clear recording. Still getting used to this notebook but all in all a very great buy and no regrets at all.
It is thin (probably the thinnest you can buy) and lightweight laptop which is BlueRay drive to read and write. I guess this is the biggest strength of this laptop. It has a powerful 2Ghz processor and 2GB RAM. However, what is disappointing is it has a fairly low RPM Hard Drive. Screen is pretty bright and watching BlueRay movies is a real good experience. Connecting it with the HD TV with HDMI port gives excellent quality picture.
Working on standard applications is good and fast. However, it is loaded with promotional software, which is bit annoying. Sony, with the premium price it offers, it can stay away from such promotional tactics.
Keyboard seems little slippery at times and perhaps need more time to get used to.
With Sony brand name tagged to it, and decent configuration, it may seem to be just right priced notebook.
